This is where most people in Motor Sport start. Production Car Autotesting is both fun and competitive and you can start from the age of 14 ( with a passenger with a full UK driving licence sat with you in an standard car)

All our events are run under the rules of the Motor Sports Association (MSA)

With Production Car Autotesting, you must have a passenger. This takes some of the pressure off of the driver as there is someone to help out with directions (or to blame if the wrong route is taken)

Cannock & District Car Club has promoted all forward Autotests over many years. This is a fun type of Motor Sport and at a good price too. You only need a standard car, the car you use for shopping is just fine. You would have to be in a Motor Sport Club, Cannock & District Car Club would be a good place to start, and as a club member you could do your first event for under £40.

All types of cars are entered and put into classes accordingly, so if you are in a 1400cc car you wont be running in a class with 2000cc turbo cars. You could win in your class, and when you get more experience maybe a win overall.

We all start at some time, so why not start with Cannock & District Car Club?
Over the last few years we have had some newcomers into Motorsport, all starting in Production Car forward Autotesting and moving on to building and running their own rally cars.

The BTRDA
AutoSolo
Final

Now for AutoSolo. This is similar to All Forward Autotest but tends to have longer tests and the big thing is you do not have a passenger to help you around. It can be faster too depending on the venue and the way the test is set out.

AutoSolo cars tend to be tuned production cars. Again, you don`t have to use a new car, the idea is to do the best you can with what you have. If you`re good at working on your car you can do well in AutoSolo on a club event, the BTRDA run a championship, Cannock & District Car Club run the last AutoSolo of the year for the BTRDA.

This is a typical All Forward Autotest and was also used on the BTRDA AutoSolo we ran for them. You are usually given a map of the tests and you can walk them before the event.
